The Hamil Group is one of North America's largest textile converting
organizations with offices spanning the globe from New York, Los Angeles,
Toronto and Montreal to Japan and Korea. In its 40-year history, Hamil has
always provided the highest quality fabrics and service to its customers.
Encompassing the services of trend forecasters, design studio, print
library and mill, Hamil can provide for all of your fashion fabric needs,
from concept to delivery.
Founded in Montreal in 1959 by Harry Miller, the original company, Hamil
Textiles, started as a fabric supplier to the over-the-counter retail
market. Now the Hamil Group corporate banner encompasses four divisions -
Take Two, H.T. Studio, Hamil Textiles (USA), and Hamil America - having
grown in 40 years from a small office and one delivery truck to a
multinational corporation and member of the Algo Group, a leader for 56
years in Canada's growing fashion market.
As we approach the new millennium, the Hamil of today is a quite different
company to that started by Harry Miller. Their state-of-the-art design
studios and libraries in New York and Toronto produce twice yearly
openlines, as well as extensive custom print designs for companies looking
for exclusivity and personal attention. With their own offices in Japan and
Korea, Hamil is able to react quickly to market trends, monitor quality
control and easily handle print transfers. Their customer base now includes
the medium to better sportswear and dress trade, childrens wear and
lingerie manufacturers, and the growing weekend-wear or "casual Friday"
customer.
Annual sales are now at $40 million and Hamil's rate of growth shows no
signs of slowing. In1997 work was completed on their brand new showroom
and design studio on New York's Fashion Avenue, featuring the U4ia CAD
system, and their newest domestic printing division, Hamil America.
The driving force behind Hamil's success is Jerry Miller, President of the
company. It was Miller's vision in1980 that initiated the opening of the
U.S. operation and Hamil's continuous growth and achievements. Inspired by
his father and surrounded by dedicated and talented staff, Miller looks
towards an even brighter future for the company.
